How it works
- 1
Describe the visitor.
Who they are, what they came for, how comfortable they are with technology.
- 2
Add tasks and questions.
What should they try? What do you want to ask them afterwards?
- 3
Read the session.
Every step with its reasoning, then their answers in their own words.
What you get
A think-aloud session on one page or the whole site, task by task, with screenshots, and an interview at the end.
Before a simulation, the audit says what's likely to trip someone up. After it, Analytics shows whether real visitors do.
“…a direct contact form or phone number would be even more helpful for a corporate client like me.”Simulated visitor · things.com.tr (our studio's site) · 5 Oct 2026

Synthetic users
A synthetic user is a fast first read, not a verdict.
This is what people mean by a synthetic user: a simulated visitor you describe, who goes through a live site in a real browser, says what they're thinking at each step, and answers your questions at the end.
We built it for the gap before user research, not instead of it. It catches the things a first-time visitor trips over (a cart with no visible link, a form that says "Invalid input", a price you can't find) before you spend a budget on recruiting.
Good for
- Spotting where a first-time visitor gets stuck, before launch or before a redesign.
- Checking a flow on a page that doesn't have traffic yet.
- Giving your team, or your client, something concrete to react to in the first week.
Not a substitute for
- Interviews and usability tests with the people who actually buy from you.
- Decisions that need real behaviour at scale. For that, use Rubric Analytics.
Every simulation report shows the persona, each task's outcome, the think-aloud in order, and the blockers by severity, so you can see how it got to what it says.
Good to know
Is it a real user test?
No. It's a simulated visitor, a cheap first read before you test with real people.
Why Beta?
We're still improving how far a simulated visitor gets on complex sites.
Can my whole team use it?
Yes. Invite teammates to your workspace and choose who sees which analytics sites. Basic includes 1 seat, Pro 3; extra seats are $2 a month.
In your planBasic 4 simulations a month, Pro 20.
