Terms of Service
Last updated 15 August 2026. These terms apply from the day you first use Rubric.
1. Who you are contracting with
Rubric is operated by Codeck Software, Inc., a corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States, with its registered address at 8 The Green, Suite 11307, Dover, DE 19901, USA. In these terms “we”, “us” and “Rubric” mean that company, and “you” means the person or organisation using the service.
Reach us at hello@rubric.design.
2. What Rubric is
Rubric serves a curated corpus of user-experience knowledge to software agents over the Model Context Protocol and the Agent2Agent protocol. It returns guidance to design against, checklists to audit with, and the findings a failed check produces. It also stores audits you create and the observations you submit against them.
Rubric looks things up; it does not certify anything. Its output is professional guidance, not a legal opinion, not an accessibility conformance statement, and not a substitute for testing with real people or for advice from a qualified professional. In particular, nothing Rubric returns may be presented as certification of conformance with WCAG, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act, or any other standard or law.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google or GitHub. You are responsible for keeping access to that identity, and for every API key issued from your account: a key is shown once, stored only as a hash, and anyone holding it can spend your balance. Revoke a key you no longer recognise at rubric.design/app.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If you are using Rubric for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
4. The free tier
Every account gets a number of free calls in a rolling 24-hour window — currently 100, per account rather than per key. Only successful calls count. We may change the number; we will not change it retroactively for calls you have already made.
5. Paid usage, and how the money works
Rubric is pay-as-you-go. You add money to a balance in advance, and each paid call takes its price out of that balance. There is no subscription and no minimum.
- Balances are held in US dollars. If you pay in another currency, Stripe converts at its own rate and the amount credited is the dollar amount.
- The price recorded against a call is the price we charged for it. If we change a price later, it applies to calls made after the change and re-values nothing you have already paid for.
- A call that fails is not charged, and does not count against the free tier either.
- When your balance cannot cover a call, the call is refused rather than putting you into debt.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe holds them and we hold only its record of what was charged. Your statement will show “RUBRIC DESIGN”.
You are responsible for any tax that applies to you. Prices shown are exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise.
7. Refunds
Unused balance is refundable. Write to hello@rubric.design and we will return the unused portion to the original payment method. Calls already served are not refundable, and promotional or granted credit has no cash value and is never refunded.
8. What you may do with what Rubric returns
Broadly: use it. You may use Rubric’s output in your own work, in products you build, and in reports you deliver to your own clients, including commercially, with no attribution required.
The one limit is wholesale copying of the corpus itself. You may not:
- systematically extract the corpus in order to republish it, or to offer a service that substitutes for Rubric;
- use it as training data for a model intended to reproduce it.
The corpus, the software and the Rubric name remain ours. Nothing here transfers ownership of them.
9. What you must not do
- Audit a site you have no right to test. You are responsible for having permission for every URL you submit, and for obeying that site’s own terms.
- Work around the metering, the free-tier limit, or the account boundary — including by creating multiple accounts to extend the free tier.
- Attempt to reach another account’s audits, findings, keys or balance.
- Use Rubric to break the law or to infringe someone else’s rights.
10. Your data
The URLs you audit, the observations you submit and your usage belong to you and are treated as confidential. What we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Availability
We aim to keep Rubric up and we watch it, but we do not offer a service level agreement. The service is provided as it is. We may change it, and we may take it down for maintenance.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, Rubric is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the corpus is complete, current or correct for your situation, or that using it will produce any particular outcome.
13. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to Rubric is limited to the greater of US$100 and the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Rubric at any time and delete your account from the panel; doing so revokes your keys and any connected applications. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are required to close, or that is being used in a way that threatens the service or other customers. If we close your account for anything other than a breach, we refund any unused balance.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so on this page and, where we hold your email for the account, tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Rubric after that is acceptance.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, and both parties consent to that venue. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you rights you cannot waive by contract, this clause does not take those rights away.
17. The rest
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing something is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor of the business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Rubric.
